Christmas Fair
I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone for making the Christmas Fair such a fantastic success. We are unbelievably proud of 5th and 6th Class for putting together this wonderful event. It was very clear today that we have many budding entrepreneurs and salespeople among our pupils! They have been planning and working behind the scenes for weeks.
None of this would have been possible without their wonderful teachers and additional needs assistant—Mrs. Milsom, Ms. Bannister, and Carol. I want to give a particularly massive thank you to Carol, whose work was truly invaluable. She took on the responsibility of handling the money, organising the raffle, decorating, and coordinating so many aspects of the day.
We also want to express our sincere gratitude to our new PA and all the volunteers who were helping from early this morning. Several PA members have spent weeks sourcing donations and prizes. We are very grateful for the generous support of Londis, Lidl, Aldi, Dunnes, Bob and Kate, and Tesco.
There was a wonderful buzz and excitement in the air from start to finish. We are thrilled to let you know that an incredible €2,700 was raised—such a fantastic achievement for our school community! This will go towards funding new playground equipment.
Christmas Quiz
Six groups of pupils took part in a Christmas Quiz in Scoil Linbh Íosa in aid of St. Vincent de Paul. The students enjoyed a wonderful night filled with fun, teamwork, and festive spirit. Their participation helped support the important work of St. Vincent de Paul in the local community.
Librarians Came to Visit
On 26th November, two lovely librarians, Carl and Charlotte, from Kildare Library Services visited the school.
They told the children all about the wonderful free services available — and even gifted us some free books!
Scholastic Book Fair
Today, the children enjoyed a special “Look and See” session where they had the chance to browse through the wide selection of books on offer. Each child created a Wish List of the books that caught their eye and may be of interest to them.
We look forward to the excitement the Book Fair will bring over the coming days and appreciate your support in fostering a love of reading in our school.
Goodbye, Mrs Lamb
We said an emotional goodbye to Mrs. Lamb. Mrs. Lamb and her family have been part of the Hewetson School community for the past five years, and we can’t thank her enough for all the support and care she has given the children, parents, and staff. We wish her every happiness in the next exciting chapter of her life. As we like to say, it’s not goodbye — it’s see you later.

DIY SOS Day
I want to extend a heartfelt thanks to all our amazing parents, children, and staff, for coming together to make our DIY SOS Day such a fantastic success. Thanks to your incredible efforts, we accomplished so much to create a safer and more beautiful environment for all the children.
It was truly wonderful to see everyone working side by side, and the positive energy and great buzz from start to finish made the day even more special. Beyond the hard work, it was also a fantastic opportunity to get to know one another better and strengthen our community spirit.
We couldn’t have done it without all the enthusiasm, support, and teamwork. Here’s to many more days like this!
