📚 Meet Our Buddies! 🌟

The children were delighted to meet and get to know their new buddies! There was great excitement as new friendships began to form across the classes.

Everyone is now really looking forward to Buddy Reading on Fridays, when the children will come together to share stories, enjoy books and learn from one another. 📖💛

A Very Special Day at Hewetson NS!

What an incredibly special and memorable day for our whole Hewetson community! ❤️

As part of Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, County Kildare and Austria have been paired through the Irish Government’s county pairing initiative. We were truly honoured that Hewetson NS was chosen for a very special visit as part of the three-day civic and cultural programme across Kildare.

On 25th September, we were delighted to welcome Melitta Schubert, Ambassador of Austria to Ireland, and Barbara Cullinane, Ireland’s Ambassador to Austria, to our school.

There was huge excitement among our children, staff, Board of Management and parents as we prepared to welcome our visitors and show them what makes Hewetson such a special little school. 

Our children made us incredibly proud, putting on a wonderful assembly showcasing the amazing array of talents we have in Hewetson. We also shared some of our favourite assembly songs and gave our visitors a tour of our school and beautiful grounds. 🎶🌳

One of the most special moments of the day was our tree-planting ceremony, creating a lasting reminder of this wonderful occasion and of the friendship between Ireland and Austria. 

We are also so proud to see the Irish and Austrian flags flying side by side at Hewetson NS.

A wonderful celebration of friendship, culture, community and connection — and a day that will hold a very special place in the history of our school.

Our beautiful Bí Cineálta Noticeboard was inspired by International Dot Day! 🎨🔴🟡🔵

Every pupil in Hewetson designed their very own unique dot, reminding us that every child is a very important part of our Hewetson family. Just like their dots, no two pupils are the same — each person brings their own talents, personality, ideas and something incredible to our school community. 💛

Together, all of our individual dots create something really special — just like all of the wonderful children who make Hewetson the school it is.

DIY & Clean-Up Day! 🛠️🌿

A massive thank you to everyone who came along to help with our DIY and Clean-Up Day!

Our school is looking absolutely beautiful, both inside and out, thanks to the hard work of our wonderful school community. 💚

It was fantastic to see everyone coming together, giving their time and lending a hand. The day was full of chat, laughter and great teamwork, and we are so grateful to everyone who helped make such a difference.

🚜🌾 Agricultural Workshop 🌾🚜

3rd and 4th Class were very lucky to take part in a fantastic agricultural workshop with Rachel Taylor. The children had a brilliant day learning all about agriculture, farming and where our food comes from through lots of fun and engaging activities.

A huge thank you to Rachel for sharing her knowledge and making the day so enjoyable and educational for everyone! 🐄🌱🚜
